The TSO is a storied institution embedded into the fabric of the city of Toronto. But with a strong reputation comes familiarity, which is a problem when you are trying to invite them to get excited about what’s going on right now.
Our approach was to take the symphony out of the concert hall and bring a new visual language to a brand everyone is familiar with. With superb collaboration from Michael Zarathus-Cook of the TSO, we created a series of films interviewing TSO Music Director, Gustavo Gimeno, and Associate Concertmasters Yolanda Bruno and Clare Semes about the new season, their experiences in their roles and what to expect from the TSO in the coming months.
By bringing a documentary format to the series, we invited the audience to have a more intimate understanding of the TSO, and to see and experience voices from the TSO in a way they’ve never been able to before.
